MEET LIZ

Liz Freed, LMSW, IMH-E

Licensed Master Social Worker

Liz is a clinical social worker with specialties working with pregnant and parenting folks as well as young children and their families, with a special interest in trauma-informed, neurodiverse-affirming practice.

I understand welcoming a new baby to the family comes with a host of challenges and changes: from hormonal shifts and changes in our brains and bodies to changes in employment, lifestyle, relationships, and reflecting on our own experiences of being parented. I am highly experienced in working with pregnant, birthing, postpartum, and parenting folks with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders—or just struggling with the changes in demands, identity, and daily structure.

I am also highly experienced in working with neurodivergent children and their parents, from early identification through educational advocacy. I am dedicated to helping parents learn and understand their children as they improve their own ability to meet the needs of their kids, wherever they are in their development.

I approach my work using collaboration, observation, curiosity, and humor to help you improve your own reflective capacity, to understand yourself and the journey you’ve been on. My approach to treatment is rooted in psychodynamics, feminist theory, and from a psychosocial, relational, and developmental framework.
