MEET AMANDA
Amanda Selman, LMSW
Licensed Master Social Worker
Hi! I'm happy you're here! I can imagine how overwhelming it must feel to seek out a stranger to help YOU with YOUR life. But, don't be discouraged. YOU are the expert on your lived experiences, and YOU hold the key to the answers you seek. My job as your clinician is to help you find the right door to walk through.
My name is Amanda, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker. I have experience in various social service settings, such as early childhood education programs and outpatient substance use and mental health clinics. I've worked with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, families, LGBTQ+ individuals, trauma survivors, individuals with disabilities, immigrants, and cultural minority groups.
Empathy and confidentiality are at the forefront of my approach as a clinician. I emphasize meeting a client where they are at to gain an understanding of their goals so a productive therapeutic relationship can be built. I will create a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves. Clients can openly express their thoughts and emotions while feeling listened to, accepted, and understood. I use multimodal therapies like motivational interviewing, mindfulness, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to help clients formulate and meet their goals. My objective is to empower clients to develop healthier life habits, work on overcoming challenges, cope with stressors, and confront fears in a safe environment.
"It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you don't stop."
